The Vista Ventures Team

The Vista Ventures team has deep experience in venture capital investing. Just as importantly, each of the principals has solid operating experience in senior management positions and in aggregate, the team can help companies in all functional areas, including sales and marketing, business development, operations, engineering, IT and finance. All of this is supported by an extensive background in corporate finance and legal affairs.

Successful venture funds are created from the combined strength of a team of individuals with diverse and complementary backgrounds. Vista's investment team - Catharine Merigold, Kirk Holland and Lisa Reeves - has extensive experience in the three sectors of investment focus: software, digital media and networks. This experience includes venture investing and financial transactions (mergers and acquisitions, and private placements and public equity financings), as well as senior management positions within these industries. In their operating roles, each partner has held senior positions with emerging and leadership companies. This background gives critical industry context for our investments. In addition, our combined experience in the three sectors is a critical advantage for IT investing today. Drivers in each of the sectors impacts the business models and opportunities in the others.

Collectively, the investment team has 27 years of ventures experience and 34 years of operating experience. We have made 35 IT investments and have seen 21 venture portfolios play out spanning vintage years from 1982 to 2004.
