Rally Software tops Mercury 100

The 100 fastest-growing private companies in Boulder and Broomfield counties were honored Wednesday night at the 10th annual Mercury 100 event presented at the Boulder Theater by the Boulder County Business Report.

Boulder-based Rally Software Development Corp. took the top spot among companies reporting more than $2 million in annual revenues, and Boulder-based Room 214 led the list of companies reporting less than $2 million in annual revenues.

The Mercury 100 list is based on two-year revenue growth.

Rally Software, a developer of Agile software tools, recorded a 13,378 percent increase after boosting revenues from $23,000 in 2004 to $3.1 million in 2006.

Room 214, a search-engine and social media marketing company, increased revenue 1,847 percent - $38,000 in 2004 to $740,000 in 2006.

The Mercury top five in the more than $2 million category included, in order: Rally Software; Thanasi Foods LLC, Boulder, 5,980 percent; The Spitfire Group, Longmont, $1,700 percent; Porchfront Homes, Boulder, 525 percent; and Spark Fun Electronics, Boulder, 477 percent.

The top five in the less than $2 million category included, in order, Room 214; Natural Resource Services, Boulder, 767 percent; Windward Studios, Boulder, 714 percent; Pangea Organics, Boulder, 429 percent; and Boulder Digital Arts LLC, Boulder, 415 percent.

About 350 people attended. The event's main sponsors were Circle Capital Partners, Toyota, Clifton Gunderson LLP, CBIZ, Chrisman Construction Inc., Colt Print Services Inc., Vectra Bank and Chase Bank.
